Dog Boarding in West Sussex

We are the UK’s leading dog boarding company. We have carers across West Sussex including: East Grinstead, Crawley, Horsham, Worthing, Hayward’s Heath, Chichester, Bognor Regis, Petworth and the surrounding areas.

Did you know we were established in 1996 and was the first company in the UK to offer a home dog boarding service for owners wishing to find somewhere private and exclusive to care for their dogs?

We offer a dog boarding service with a 'home from home' approach. Our carers have already met our requirements and are more than qualified to care for your dog whilst you are away. Other alternatives can’t provided the same level of service as one on one care that your dog will receive during their home from home holiday.

You and your dog are invited to meet your carer beforehand so you can get to know each other before your holiday. Home boarding will put your mind at ease whilst you’re separated from your dog as they will receive round the clock care and attention. Unlike kennels, your pet’s routines will be maintained just as if they were at home.

To take advantage of the service we provide at Home from Home, please register by clicking the button on the side bar. This process takes no more than 10 minutes. There are no hidden costs and no extra fees to pay. Please call us on 01932 568584 where Sasha, Lorna, Lynn and Sally will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

A. When did you join Home from Home?
It must be 6 or 7 years ago

B. What made you decide that you wanted to look after other people’s dogs?
We had a beautiful black Labrador for 12 years and after we lost her we decided against getting another; children left home, more time for holidays etc. so being able to have a dog for company and to look after, when it fitted in with our plans, was a perfect compromise. Dog walking is a great way of keeping fit!

C. What do you like most about working with us?
You choose your staff very carefully. They are always really polite and friendly, never make you feel bad if you can’t take the dog they are offering (even though they are probably really fed up about it!) you always feel the choice is yours, no pressure. My one and only problem over Christmas when I had to phone Martin, the MD, as the doggie seemed rather unwell, was handled very professionally and I really appreciated being able to talk over what had been happening. Being able to contact someone in time of “crisis” was brilliant. Looking after someone else’s dog is a big responsibility and knowing you are not on your own, takes away any problems you may have.

A. When did you join Home from Home?
We joined in October 2016

B. What made you decide that you wanted to look after other people’s dogs?
We decided to look after other people's dogs as we had lost our dog a year ago and after having dogs all our lives felt it was time to take more holidays abroad.
But it soon became apparent that we needed dogs in our life, so looking after other people's was the answer. Going through a reputable company was the answer as you always have a backup if things did happen to go wrong.

C. What do you like most about working with us?
We have had our first booking & the Home from Home staff were very good at making the arrangements and paperwork. We met Ralph the Boxer & his owners and had no worries about looking after him.
Martin who came round in the first instance was lovely, he went through everything in detail, and answered all our questions & didn't hurry the interview.
The same goes for all the staff I have spoken to in the office.

Barbara lives in Crawley, West Sussex

A. When did you join Home from Home?
Since June 2011.

B. What made you decide that you wanted to look after other people’s dogs?
I wanted to look after other people's dogs because I'd always had a dog (or 2) in the house but then our last one died, and having retired I wanted to have some freedom to come and go as I pleased. My parents had always looked after our dog(s) and we'd returned the favour and looked after theirs. But they had both died too so our dog sitters were no more around! I didn't know of Home from Home otherwise I'd have used it rather than kennels.

C. What do you like most about working with us?
I missed having the company of my own dog and the walks, so fostering one was the next best thing as I can fit it in around my social life. I've always found the staff very friendly and helpful and was very impressed with the home visit I had by Martin before signing up. He took on board our preferences and you only send me dogs that will slot into our lifestyle - thank you!

Allan and Chris who live in Haywards Heath, West Sussex

A. When did you join Home from Home?
We joined during 2013

B. What made you decide that you wanted to look after other people’s dogs?
After having our own dogs for 40 years, the last two died aged 15 and 14 years within a few months of each other, we decided not to replace them. We knew with our first grandchild was on the way so we would be travelling up and down to Norfolk frequently. Looking after other people's dogs from time to time was an ideal way to replace our own dogs.

C. What do you like most about working with us?
We are not tied to a given period of time, we can choose which dogs to have and when we can have them. We have always found you extremely helpful.

I just wanted to let you know how happy Dottie and I were when I collected her from her stay with Barbara and Keith. She was very happy and contented with them and didn’t seem in any hurry to come home! She was obviously very well cared for and felt completely at home. I will definitely ask them to care for her again as she really did have a "Home from Home" experience.

It is so reassurring to know that your beloved pet is as important to their carer as they are to you; they are a lovely couple and were very friendly and accommodating.

Thank you.
