So when the day is nearly over and you and your best friend retire to watch some television, what are the best dog shows out there?
The Love of Dogs, ITV
Well ITV's "The Love of Dogs" is certainly a popular choice. Hosted by Paul O'Grady, it was first premiered on the 3rd of September 2012 and has had five series aired with a sixth in the making for 2017. The general format of the show is that Paul meets members of the Battersea Dogs home and also talks about some of the dogs that they are caring for.
Each has a heartfelt story, from being abandoned by their owners to being found badly injured. Paul shows how the Battersea staff really care and look after the animals back to health.
Paul O'Grady has been so popular with the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home that they have made him an ambassador for the centre.
Walks with My Dog, Channel 4
Channel 4's first offering comes in the shape of "Walks with My Dog", hosted by a whole host of famous people such as Robert Lindsay, Phil Spencer and Angela Griffin. Essentially the show is all about the said presenters and eager viewers walking their dogs throughout parts of Great Britain.
There are always many different breeds on the show. Each episode has different presenters such as Bill Bailey, Sarah Parish and Ben Fogle.
The Supervet, Channel 4
Another Channel 4 favourite is "The Supervet". This is all about pets needing specialist medical care from all far reaches of the British Isles. Noel Fitzpatrick is the Supervet and him and his team perform the medical care that the dogs and other pets so valuably need.
Noel is one of England's top vets. "Super Vet" showcases Fitzpatrick and his staff treating hard-to-cure ailments with innovative care and surgical skills.
